SPIE enhances its service offerings to the pharmaceutical industry in France

The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire integrates the “Life Sciences” business of SPIE Oil & Gas Services

Paris, September 18, 2019 – The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, a French subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces the integration of the “Life Sciences” business developed previously as part of the subsidiary SPIE Oil & Gas Services. The merger of “Life Sciences” with SPIE’s other businesses operating in the pharmaceutical industry means that we are now able to offer customers a comprehensive and enhanced range of services.

Integrated as of 1 July into the Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, the “Life Sciences” business applies its consulting expertise for the pharmaceutical industry primarily in two areas: project management assistance and support in validation and qualification processes. Two hundred and thirty SPIE employees working in France’s main pharmaceutical regions (Ile-de-France, Normandy, Rhône, etc.) are now working as a team to offer a complete range of services to major industry players such as Sanofi, Aguettant, GSK and Merck.

Complementary expertise for enhanced global offerings

The consulting activities of the “Life Sciences” business complement the expertise of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, which already provides a well-established and diversified range of expert services to the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the fields of industrial process integration and management as well as clean room construction. “Our customers now face new market requirements. So, they need partners capable of supporting them across all phases of a project, from design through to maintenance. In response to these developments, SPIE is meeting these needs and is also enabling the Industrie division to strengthen its position as an integrator of smart and agile solutions,” confirms Frédéric Toussaint, Managing Director of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire’s Industrie division.

With increased visibility and an expanded and enhanced commercial offering in a fast-growing pharmaceutical industry, SPIE is strengthening its position as a key player capable of addressing global projects, from consulting and process equipment design to maintenance, but also installation works, qualification and validation. With good prospects on the horizon, the “Life Sciences" business is particularly open to integrating talent capable of boosting its expertise.
