Highest quality of orthopaedic care in the Haaglanden region and surroundings.
Breda, December 10th, 2018 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, is involved in the construction of the first orthopaedic centre in an area of collaborating medical organizations. SPIE is responsible for the design and realisation of the electrical and HVAC installations, including building automation.
Construction of the Reinier Haga Orthopaedic Centre started last month at the LangeLand Hospital site in Zoetermeer. Once the main structure of the more than 7,000 m² Orthopaedic Centre is in place, SPIE will start internal work on completing the electrical and HVAC installations. The building will be kitted out sustainably by using heat pumps, LED lighting and automatic light switches, among other things
The business unit Healthcare of SPIE is responsible for the entire project. The four new operating theatres to be built in the complex will be equipped with the latest air-treatment technology. Furthermore, the building includes outpatient clinics for orthopaedics, treatment rooms and single-bed rooms to provide patients with optimal comfort so that they can quickly return home.
The Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis [Hospital] has been familiar with SPIE’s work for the hospital for many years. In particular, technical expertise in medical environments is SPIE’s added value, for example when replacing the emergency power installation last year. SPIE and its business unit Healthcare knows best how to perform while a hospital is running 24/7.
The Reinier Haga Group, the administrative merger of the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis in Delft and the Haga Hospital in The Hague, is proud of this acquisition, which puts the highest quality orthopaedic care within reach of many orthopaedic patients in the Haaglanden region and surroundings.
