Munich, July 23, 2020 – For the second time, SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa and its long-term client Munich Re are prematurely extending their contract for the technical and infrastructural facility management of the Munich reinsurance company’s properties. With this additional four-year extension of the contract, which was originally meant to end in February 2023, Munich Re confirms its trust in SPIE's service and technical expertise.

Good working relationship for over nine years

Munich Re, headquartered in Munich, is one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance, insurance-related risk solutions and direct insurance. As part of the operating company FMgo!, which was specially created for this contract, SPIE has already been working on behalf of Munich Re and operating 20 properties of the group’s headquarters – including two data centres - since 2011. “Our long term partnership results from the cooperation with our client Munich Re and our partner Klüh, which is based on trust and solutions”, explains Hermes Tillmann, Branch Manager of SPIE’s Munich branch and Managing Director of FMgo!.

Sophisticated technical facility management

The tasks of the multi-technical service provider particularly include operation, maintenance and improvement as well as buildings’ modernisation and related building engineering installations. Regarding the two data centres, SPIE provides the uninterrupted electricity supply needed and oversees the cooling systems. The Group is also responsible for the complete security technology system, including access control, fire protection installations, alarm and surveillance infrastructures. With a round-the-clock on-call service 365 days a year, the multi-technical service provider guarantees a rapid response in the eventuality of disturbances.

SPIE is also responsible for maintaining the outside installations and operational floor-space management. The multi-technical service provider renovates, upgrades and equips office spaces, offers moving services and provides support at events. The FMgo! co-partner Klüh Service Management takes part in this partnership with its expertise in facility cleaning.

We are delighted about this early extension of the contract and see it as an indication of Munich Re’s continuing trust in our services and our technical expertise. In the future our client can continue to rely on us as a trustworthy partner to provide efficient solutions and always ensure perfect building operation while maintaining the value of the 20 properties”, Hermes Tillmann said on a final note. “I would like to express my personal thanks to the 190 colleagues of the FIMgo! SPIE unit, who ultimately made this further extension possible through their commitment and expertise.
