“Board Composition” prize awarded as part of the 17th Grands Prix du Gouvernement d’Entreprise (grand prizes for corporate governance)
Cergy, 30 September 2020 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has just received the “Board Composition” prize (SBF 80 category) awarded as part of the 17th Grands Prix du Gouvernement d’Entreprise organised by L’AGEFI.
Launched in 2004, the Grands Prix du Gouvernement d'Entreprise, awarded by L’AGEFI, have become a standard for recognising best practices in corporate governance.
SPIE is thrilled to have received the first “Board Composition” prize in the SBF 80 category, which recognises the work done over the last few years within the Board of Directors.
Since it was first listed on the stock exchange in 2015, SPIE has carried out numerous initiatives aimed at improving its governance practices: equal number of men and women on the Board of Directors, importance given to independent directors, presence of a director representing employees on the remuneration committee, or diversity of nationalities on the Board to reflect the Group’s strategic positioning within Europe. By the end of this year, employee representation on the Board of Directors will be increased with a Board of eleven persons set to include two employee directors and one director representing shareholder employees.
“Over the last five years, SPIE relied on a Board of Directors that is both independent and balanced, and prepared to support the Group’s pursuit of its development strategy in Europe,” states Gauthier Louette, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SPIE. “I am really happy that the SPIE Board has approached these corporate social responsibility issues in a structured way, which will help to further improve our governance and our performance.”
