SPIE signs an agreement for the acquisition of CRIC in Belgium

SPIE Belgium strengthens its position in Wallonia with the acquisition of CRIC, a Walloon specialist in HVAC

Brussels, 11 January 2016 – SPIE Belgium, subsidiary of the SPIE group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces that it has acquired CRIC. This acquisition will strengthen its position on Belgian territory.

Founded in 1997, CRIC (Climatisation Réfrigération Industrielle & Commerciale, Air conditioning Industrial and commercial refrigeration) is located in Walcourt, near Charleroi. It employs a staff of approximately 30 employees, specialised in installation and maintenance of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning)  in Wallonia. CRIC has generated a turnover of €4.2 million in 2014 and counts among its clients ING, bpost, Proximus and GSK.

CRIC teams will report to the Services Division of SPIE Belgium and will continue to develop the expertise and competencies, which have made the company successful. This new operational entity will be mainly active in the French speaking part of the country.

"The technological expertise of CRIC fits in perfectly with the current competencies of SPIE Belgium. Furthermore, the portfolio of existing customers of CRIC opens the way towards major synergies in the field of maintenance on the one hand and on the other hand, towards the development on niche markets such as the pharmaceutical and ‘Care & Cure’ sectors".

The acquisition will be finalised in late January 2016.
