Saint-Ouen, 17 June 2025 – SPIE Facilities, a French subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, announces the strengthening of its partnership with Bouygues Telecom for the operation and maintenance of its national data centre network.
Thanks to a collaborative partnership based on trust, established over the course of 15 years, SPIE Facilities is supporting Bouygues Telecom on three historic sites in Île-de-France – the data centres – by providing services covering high- and low-voltage electricity, generators, inverters, energy workshops, ventilation and air conditioning.
Due to the confidence provided by this trusting relationship, Bouygues Telecom entrusted SPIE Facilities, at the beginning of 2023, with the extension of this assignment to 131 additional sites, bringing the number of sites supported in Île-de-France to 34 (3 data centres, 5 Central Offices and 26 Metro Offices), with around 100 being supported across the south-west of France.
This new contract covers sites ranging from a few dozen square metres to more than 6000 m². These strategic data centres house the telecommunications equipment needed to store, manage and route the mobile and Internet data of Bouygues Telecom's customers, as well as making it possible to provide cloud and IT hosting services for enterprise customers.
SPIE Facilities teams have a permanent presence in the largest data centres in order to guarantee optimal service continuity and maintain an availability rate close to 100%, thus guaranteeing service for millions of users.
This collaborative partnership is also part of the CSR policy of the two companies. With the ambition of acting jointly for a more responsible, positive and inspiring digital sector, Bouygues Telecom is committed to supporting the environmental transition, accelerating the decarbonisation of activities and ensuring their sustainability, optimising its use of resources and preserving biodiversity. Extending the life of equipment, energy performance management and the use of renewable energy constitute the levers of Bouygues Telecom's climate strategy.
SPIE Facilities brings its knowledge and expertise in the energy performance of data centres to optimise their operation: energy efficiency of air conditioning and streamlining of maintenance, the free-cooling ventilation technique, using natural fresh air etc.
"We are proud to have been entrusted with this renewed contract by Bouygues Telecom. It demonstrates the excellence of our teams and our expertise in the operation of critical infrastructure," explains Cyril Pouet, Managing Director of SPIE Facilities. "By maintaining these data centres that are essential to the daily lives of millions of users, we are making a concrete contribution to the country's digital continuity, while also supporting our customer in its environmental transition process."
"SPIE Facilities is a trusted partner, which is why we have chosen them to maintain the data centre sites in our network. The challenge for their teams is to maintain an availability rate of our equipment close to 100% and to resolve incidents within an efficient time frame," says Matthieu Gravier, National Backbone Deployment Director, Bouygues Telecom.
"The SPIE Facilities teams are meeting Bouygues Telecom's requirements and contributing to the continuous improvement of the performance of its sites. 2025 will be a decisive year to continue this growth of our data centres,” concludes Angelo Morais, Operations & Infrastructure Manager, Paris region, Bouygues Telecom.
