The Japanese company finds quality and reliability in SPIE Nederland
Sprundel (the Netherlands), July 16th, 2018 – With its Process Equipment business unit, SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, is indirectly working for Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the world. Kawasaki, one of the new Japanese clients of SPIE, who is supplying a new gas compressor installation for Saudi Aramco, is getting the necessary lubrication oil system from SPIE Nederland in Sprundel.
The kick-off of the project was in December 2017. As one of the five preferred suppliers of Saudi Aramco, the state oil company of Saudi Arabia, SPIE Nederland was also chosen by the Japanese Kawasaki, because of its reliability, quality and knowledge.
The Process Equipment business unit in Sprundel does everything in-house: quote, engineering, purchase, build and test. Every step and equipment meet the most current and requested standards. “It is precisely that customisation which makes every project unique”, says project manager Johan Buijs. His colleague Martijn Künzel had already introduced himself to the Japanese company a few years ago. “The time and energy that we invested is now bearing fruit.”
The engineering process for the lubrication oil system takes about four months to complete. The building process is set in motion only when all parties have agreed. The “plug and play” unit, including the piping system and cabling, is built and tested in Sprundel, before it is set up on location in Saudi Arabia.
