- At SPIE, 278 trainee places for 31 skilled professions were filled for the start of the new training year in Germany alone.
- The number of new trainees thus showed a significant increase of 56% on the previous year.
- The goal: to provide qualified, solid and versatile professional training for the skilled workforce of the future.
Ratingen, October 8th, 2018 – SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, a subsidiary of the SPIE group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has granted an initial 278 traineeships for the 2018 training year, representing a significant 56% increase in the number of new trainees in the company compared to the previous year. The positions span a total of 31 skilled professions and focus largely on technology and IT.
“Qualified employees lay strong foundations for our growing company. We have deliberately set our sights high with regard to training and will continue down this path in years to come at every level of our organisation. Therefore I’m very glad that 100 more young people than last year have chosen to start their careers at SPIE,” said Markus Holzke, Managing Director of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, who welcomed the newcomers in the context of the nationwide induction week.
Quality and future prospects: 31 skilled professions under one roof
SPIE offers young talent qualified, solid and versatile training for 31 skilled professions. Traineeships in the technical and IT fields continue to be especially popular.
The quality of the diverse training is ensured thanks to continual adjustment of training structures at our locations, for instance through training covering various business divisions, the improvement of training infrastructure or the redesign of training workshops. “Our trainees are the future of our company, which is why we pay special attention to them. We help them develop their strengths and increase their skills. We especially value the importance of an employee-friendly working environment with a particular focus on job security, environmental and health protection and a healthy work-life balance,” said Tanja Schott Head of Learning, Development & Employer Branding at SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa. This pays off for all those involved: with consistently high acceptance rates of around 90%, SPIE provides young employees with long-term future prospects after successful completion of their training, thus also ensuring that skilled young employees remain in the company and continue to develop.
On the offensive for the highly-qualified professionals of the future
This considerable increase in the number of trainees demonstrates that the intensive measures SPIE has undertaken to recruit the skilled professionals of the future are bearing fruit. It also means that SPIE had even stronger representation at last year’s trainee fairs, visited schools, hosted open days and introductory events at its locations, took part in campaigns and events for the national Girls’ Day and promoted the company to enthusiastic young people at universities and colleges. In providing this wide range of information, SPIE is winning over the professionals of the future and further establishing itself as an attractive employer.
