Warsaw, 5 December 2025 – SPIE Energotest, a Polish subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has received two industry awards for its innovative products: the ECONTROLoze central renewable energy management system, and the RZ-50 PMU disturbance recorder. Both solutions address the growing market demand for grid stability, process automation, and the optimisation of distributed energy resources.
ECONTROLoze: Awarded by COPA-DATA at zenonIZE 2025
The ECONTROLoze system, a platform for managing multiple renewable energy installations, was recognised by the COPA-DATA partner community[1]. The solution won first prize in the “Energy and Critical Infrastructure” category at the prestigious zenonIZE 2025 event organised by the software vendor in Salzburg, Austria in October. Developed by SPIE Energotest’s Systems and Automation division, the innovative system stands out for its advanced features, flexibility and role in setting new standards in the renewable energy sector.
ECONTROLoze enables the centralised and controlled monitoring in a single portfolio of photovoltaic and wind farms and energy storage facilities. Its capabilities include forecasting energy production and consumption, managing energy flows, integrating with the power exchange, and generating reports. A maintenance module based on a service schedule is also available. Through automation and configurable operating rules, ECONTROLoze reduces manual intervention and allows large portfolios of installations to be managed from a single location. Developed in close cooperation with users, the system is easy to tailor to specific operational and regulatory requirements.
RZ-50 PMU: Honoured by the Polish Electrical Power Industry Association (PSBE) at Energetab 2025
The second distinction was awarded at the 38th International Power Industry Fair – Energetab 2025 – held in Bielsko-Biała, Poland this September. The RZ-50 PMU event and disturbance recorder received a statuette from the Polish Electric Power Industry Association (PSBE). The award highlights the importance of solutions for the precise monitoring of network parameters, including synchrophasor analysis, an increasingly key element in modernising the national power infrastructure and meeting the growing need for enhanced supervision of grid operations.
The RZ-50 PMU accurately records the exact time at which events and disturbances occur, supporting the identification of disturbance sources and aiding preventive measures. It provides network operators and energy infrastructure owners with data needed to assess system stability and enhance operational safety, particularly in view of the growing number of distributed energy sources. The device also includes a synchrophasor function, enabling precise real-time analysis of dynamic grid conditions.
“Both solutions were developed in response to real customer needs ranging from improving the predictability and safety of network operations to centralising the management of large renewable portfolios,” said Tomasz Olszewski, president of the management board of SPIE Energotest. “The awards confirm that our product development aligns with the challenges faced by the industry. They also demonstrate that these solutions deliver measurable benefits to users by supporting decision-making, improving installation stability, and helping reduce operating costs.”
The functionalities of the award-winning solutions reflect the direction taken by the Polish energy sector, where precise grid monitoring and the coordination of an expanding number of renewable installations are becoming increasingly important. Although the RZ-50 PMU recorder and the ECONTROLoze system serve different market segments, they share a common objective: reducing operational uncertainty and enabling better use of energy infrastructure.
