Over the course of a day, 37 employees from SPIE Operations, SPIE France, SPIE Oil & Gas Services and SPIE Nucléaire, working in the Europa building, devoted their time to volunteering with local associations. This third Volunteer Day is an opportunity to involve SPIE employees in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) process. For the 2019 edition, the proposed actions focused on the environment and diversity:
- A litter collection operation on the Île de loisirs de Cergy-Pontoise. In order to combat pollution and the degradation of natural areas, around 20 SPIE employees have been working to collect wild waste on this 250-hectare site. A successful operation: more than twenty bags of garbage were collected!
- The development of a relaxation area within the ESAT (Etablissements et Services d'Aide par le Travail) in Villiers-le-Bel. On this occasion, SPIE employees went to meet the establishment workers. Several workshops were organized for the layout of this space: creation of flowered pallets, installation of a synthetic grass or even the creation of a wall fresco. Beyond this work, this day was an opportunity to create a link between ESAT's sixty disabled people and SPIE employees.
As in previous editions, this Volunteer Day provided an opportunity to share many moments of exchange and emotion between SPIE employees and beneficiaries of associations.
