SPIE moves into the innovative So Pop building

SPIE made the decision to relocate to the new, modern and efficient So Pop building after carrying out the associated electrical and HVAC engineering work for Covivio.Some 500 employees from three SPIE France subsidiaries (SPIE Building Solutions, SPIE CityNetworks and SPIE Facilities) will be moving in.

By choosing this location, and in accordance with its property roadmap, SPIE wanted to focus on the quality of life at work of its employees. With a surface area of around 32,000 m² spread across seven floors, So Pop is an exceptional place to work. The office spaces are designed to be flexible and collaborative and are perfectly suited to new ways of working. The building is home to:

  • a restaurant shared between all building users;
  • individual workspaces, one-to-one meeting spaces and meeting rooms for 4–14 people in a private area;
  • co-working areas and shared meeting rooms;
  • a well-being centre offering natural remedies and beauty treatments;
  • a 400 m² gym;
  • ample car parking, including 40 electric charging stations, motorcycle parking and a bike shelter with charging points;
  • a garden and terraces.

Located just a stone's throw away from metro stations on lines 13, 14 and the RER C, the So Pop building enables quick and easy access to Paris, which encourages the use of public transport and makes working for SPIE even more attractive.

"This move marks an important step for SPIE: we are now able to provide our teams with a modern, accessible and environmentally friendly place to work. We are convinced that this office space will spark creativity, collaboration and innovation and meet the needs of our customers, our employees and our partners," remarks Gregory Sudol, Head of Department at SPIE Building Solutions and Relocation Project Lead.

A fruitful collaboration that meets the new challenges facing the office space market

In 2019, Covivio, a European property manager, commissioned SPIE Building Solutions, which specialises in expertise dedicated to building intelligence and performance, to carry out the electrical and HVAC engineering work on the So Pop building in the heart of Greater Paris. Between 2019 and 2022, around 100 SPIE Building Solutions employees and contractors worked on the project. This was the first collaboration between SPIE and Covivio and has allowed SPIE to demonstrate its ability to respond to changing requirements in the sector by offering solutions that combine energy efficiency and economic performance.

SPIE Building Solutions provided a comprehensive solution covering HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), plumbing, high-voltage, low-voltage and technical building management work. This macro-lot approach gave SPIE a complete overview of the technical lots, making it easier to coordinate teams and make decisions.

The So Pop building stands out thanks to its labels and environmental certifications (HQE, BREEAM, label E+C-, R2S, OsmoZ), its acoustic comfort and its state-of-the-art energy facilities. This commitment to the energy transition reflects SPIE's desire to promote sustainable and responsible practices.
