Emmenbrücke, 1 October 2014 – Following the acquisition of Connectis by SPIE, independent European leader in multitechnical services, Philipp Lücke has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Swiss systems integrator. He replaces Matthias Täubl, who is leaving the company on his own initiative.
The SPIE Group, independent European leader in multitechnical services in the fields of energy and communications, has announced the appointment of Philipp Lücke as the Chief Executive Officer of its new subsidiary, Connectis. Philipp Lücke currently manages SPIE Germany System Integration GmbH (SDSI) and, in that capacity, he is responsible for Connectis’ integration into the SPIE Group. “With his long-standing experience of SPIE and his in-depth knowledge of the European ICT* market, Philipp Lücke has the right credentials to pursue the development of Connectis and make a success of this strategic integration for the SPIE Group. He is well placed to assume this key role as interface between Connectis and SPIE,” explains Connectis Director Gilles Brazey.
Aged 44, with a degree in business administration from BA Karlsruhe, Philipp Lücke joined SPIE in 1997 as marketing manager. He headed the Leipzig branch from 2001 being placed in charge of the Berlin branch. As managing director of SDSI from 2006, he was responsible for all the group’s ICT activities in Germany.
Former Chief Executive Officer Matthias Täubl joined Connectis in 2008. In 2013, he took a seat on the Supervisory Board and was appointed CEO. He will take on new responsibilities at Aurelius, the former parent company of Connectis. He will also remain on the board of Getronics Global B.V., the holding company of the international Getronics group, as Chief Transformation Officer.
By acquiring Connectis SPIE aims to expand its coverage of the European ICT market and benefit from Connectis’ position as a provider of customised ICT services with highly regarded teams and its status as Swiss market leader. Connectis will benefit from synergies with SPIE, especially in hosted cloud services and forward-looking areas such as smart cities and buildings (Smart City and Efficient Buildings) and FTTH (Fibre To The Home).
Connectis has 380 highly qualified employees at seven sites in Switzerland. With this latest acquisition, SPIE now has more than 4,500 employees working in the ICT sector.
