Processing of personal data for recruitment purposes

1. Data controllers and purposes of data processing

The companies within the SPIE Group and their subsidiaries situated within the European Union may –in their capacity as data controllers– use the personal data that you send to manage their recruitment operations. These operations concern the receipt and sorting of the responses received, the management of the different stages of the recruitment process and the performance of statistical studies concerning the recruitment activities. Your data will not be used for the purpose of automated decision making.
All appropriate technical and organisational security measures are taken in relation to the processing described in these presents to prevent any unauthorised access, amendment, disclosure, destruction or loss of your data.

2. Data categories and sources

The data collected on the website belong to the following categories: title, forename, surname, date of birth, town/city, country, telephone number, job sought, main training, languages, professional experience, voluntary statement on disabled worker status, profiles from social networks, curriculum vitae and cover letter; as part of the subsequent recruitment process, gender, nationality, private and business contact details, professional and university experience, current remuneration and remuneration sought, family situation, identity document, bank details, social network accounts, former and current line managers, identity and contact details of any person who may have recommended you. Such data are sent by you directly or at your initiative, by importing your profile from social networks (for example: LinkedIn, Viadeo, Xing or Facebook). The collection of such data is not compulsory in nature, but it is a prerequisite for the conclusion of an employment contract, where applicable: you may refuse the collection of your data; however, any missing data or a refusal to provide your data may result in termination of the candidacy process.

3. Legal basis and retention

Your personal data are collected on the basis of the data controller’s legitimate interest in managing recruitment and selecting the profile that is best suited to the post on offer, with the exception of any sensitive data that may be collected. Your data will be used to create your new starter file as part of our welcome process for new employees. The default data retention period is 24 months. Before expiry of this 24-month period, you will receive an email requesting that you update your details. Should you fail to respond within the period specified in the email, or should you refuse to update your details, we will not retain you data. Your data will be deleted from our databases. 

4. Recipients and transfers outside the European Union

In the absence of any legislative or regulatory provision or court judgment stating otherwise, the data collected are intended for use by the operational services concerned and by the human resources departments of the Group companies concerned by your application, together with any subcontractors, in particular the company Talentsoft which houses the application management platform (front and back office).
The data collected will be hosted in Europe, but it may be accessible from outside of the European Union by subsidiaries of the company SPIE Global Services Energy, which may be based in countries that do not have a sufficient level of protection. Standard contractual clauses have been agreed with the entities concerned to ensure that such data benefits from a level of security that is equivalent to the level of security from which they benefit within the European Union. 5. Rights and contact

As a reminder, in relation to the processing of your personal data, and in accordance with French data protection legislation, you have the following rights:

  • The right of access. You have the right to ask us whether we are holding any personal data concerning you and to request that we provide you with a copy of it. 
  • The right to rectification. You have the right to correct your data if they are inaccurate or incomplete.
  • The right to deletion. This right entitles you to request the deletion of your personal data.
  • The right to restriction of processing. You have the right to request that we temporarily suspend the processing of your personal data while you exercise your rights to correction or to object. 
  • The right to data portability. You have the right, under certain conditions, to obtain your personal data in an accessible and transferable format to enable you to reuse them for your own purposes with third parties. 
  • The right to withdraw consent. If you have given your consent to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
  • The right to object to the processing. You have the right to object to certain types of processing. 
  • The right to provide instructions on the fate of your data following your death. You have the right to inform us of what you want to happen with your data or of who will be authorised to make decisions concerning the management of your data, following your death.
