Public lighting for the town of L'Hermitage: a 10-year contract for SPIE Ouest-Centre
SPIE Ouest-Centre has won a contract for the comprehensive management of public lighting installations at L'Hermitage, a town near Rennes in Ile-et-Vilaine. Having called for tenders, L'Hermitage municipal authority conducted a competitive dialogue with bidders, laying emphasis on technical criteria and energy saving. As the successful candidate, SPIE Ouest-Centre will carry out renovation and maintenance work on the town's public lighting system (comprising 900 light fittings), traffic lights and Christmas illuminations. The objective for teams from the Bretagne Basse Normandie Infrastructures office is to achieve a 33% energy saving for the town by astute renovation of more than half its lighting equipment and by implementing a special maintenance strategy. This contract is worth 650,000 over 10 years and came into effect on 1 January this year. A joint audit of the installations will be conducted in parallel with the maintenance of lighting units in order to draw up a final lighting plan which will standardise the equipment installed and considerably reduce maintenance costs. Operations including the replacement of lamps, the labelling of lighting units and the setting up of a computer-aided maintenance management system will be carried out at the same time. This contract confirms SPIE Ouest-Centre's determination to carry out projects calling on its public lighting expertise in order to offer energy-saving solutions and to establish itself as a major player in the field of sustainable development.
