Alsace’s largest solar power station

To help replace output from decommissioned power plants, the German Krannich Group built one of France’s largest solar farms in the region of Alsace.

SPIE worked closely with the client from the preliminary studies phase, helping design the connection to the public grid as well as the entire facility, including electrical dimensioning work. As the single point of contact for the Krannich Group, SPIE worked with them on every step of the project, from design and startup to performance monitoring and operation of the HV network. The resulting plant, which is entering the start-up phase, counts 68,508 photovoltaic panels, which cover 27 hectares and produce more than 26 MegaWatt peak (MWp) of renewable energy.
