ECONTROLoze: Centralised Management System for Renewable Energy Facilities
SPIE Energotest has developed ECONTROLoze energy management system (EMS), a scalable digital platform designed to centralize the supervision, control and optimisation of distributed renewable energy sources (RES) facilities. By integrating technical data, weather forecasts and market signals, the system enables operators to improve performance, reduce costs and respond dynamically to changing energy conditions.

The rapid growth of renewable energy has led to increasingly complex and distributed energy infrastructures. Operators must manage diverse assets such as photovoltaic farms, wind farms, biogas plants and energy storage systems while ensuring efficiency, grid compliance and profitability. Traditional local control systems often require manual intervention and lack coordination across sites.
ECONTROLoze was developed to provide a unified and centralized EMS solution for monitoring, controlling and optimising RES facilities. The objective is to enable remote operations, automate decision-making and integrate market and weather data to enhance both technical performance and economic outcomes.
ECONTROLoze is a comprehensive management system combining a central platform, local control units and secure communication infrastructure. It supports integration with SCADA systems, distribution system operators (DSOs), market operators and weather services. The system is modular and scalable, allowing operators to manage hundreds of installations across different regions.
The system collects real-time data from field devices through local RTUs and aggregates it on a central platform. Operators can access dashboards via web interfaces to monitor performance indicators such as power output, equipment status and alarms. Advanced control algorithms enable active and reactive power management, both at individual facility level and across groups of assets.
ECONTROLoze integrates external data sources, including weather forecasts and electricity market prices, to optimise production strategies. Automated scheduling and group control functionalities allow operators to adjust generation in response to grid requirements or market conditions. The system also provides diagnostics, reporting and historical data analysis, supporting predictive maintenance and performance optimisation.
