The Flagey building is the former headquarters of the Belgian National Institute of Radio Broadcasting in Ixelles, Belgium. SPIE recently received a 15-year contract from this long-time client to optimise the building’s energy performance, with the goal of achieving an annual energy saving of €20,000.
Having previously worked on the building’s technical facilities for more than 20 years, SPIE is now working closely with an engineering consultancy partner to improve the Flagey building’s energy performance through installations such as a new heat pump. At the same time, SPIE is also designing measures to gauge and reduce the consumption of various other resources in the building.
