As part of their sustainable development programme, the city of Bordeaux’s transport department launched the renovation of the Lescure bus depot: a 19th-century former industrial complex identified as an industrial heritage site by the UNESCO CLUB.
With its commitment to energy renovation and e-mobility, as well as its experience participating in complex historical heritage projects, SPIE was chosen to renovate the electrics and install charging stations for the new electric bus fleet. Using building information modelling, SPIE's teams created high-voltage electrical infrastructure to power the bus recharging stations. With 41 charging points installed, the depot is ready to support Bordeaux’s new electric buses, reducing the carbon footprint of the city’s collective mobility services.
