Nippon Koei Energy Europe BV is managing the construction of the Ruien Energy Storage Battery Park in Ruien, Belgium.
SPIE is supplying them with the necessary support structure for the site, which will collect and dispense energy from renewable sources, be low in carbon emissions and reduce dependence on gas.
SPIE’s responsibilities include the management and installation of foundation work, cabling, transformers, switchgear infrastructure, video surveillance, lighting, fencing, gates and traffic lanes. With 84 battery enclosures, it is the largest battery park in the Belgian high-voltage network when it entered service, giving providers access to a flexible and clean ancillary power source and providing short-term support services to grids and electricity markets.
