SPIE innovates for Crédit Agricole’s head office in Toulouse

Working for the GA Smart Building Group (the principal), the Tertiaire division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire has just finished all work on the high-current and low-current installations at Crédit Agricole’s new head office in Toulouse. The challenge for the banking group is to make the new building, which will eventually house around 500 employees in 10,000 m2 of office space, a showcase for its activities in Toulouse.

Proven technical innovations

A 15-strong team from the Tertiaire division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire was put together to roll out particularly innovative technologies. “In order to meet the constraints associated with building in the city centre, we opted for a terminal distribution system that was entirely pre-wired and manufactured in the factory, which gives Crédit Agricole great flexibility in the layout of its workstations. This solution allowed us to reduce the equipment roll-out phase at the site, as part of plans that had previously been drawn up using BIM (Building Information Modelling),” says Stéphane Vu, project manager in the Tertiaire division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire. To give occupants the highest levels of comport possible, a Lutron autonomous lighting system also makes it possible to regulate and control the intensity of the light according to the outside luminosity and the presence of people in each office.

As a showcase for the banking group, a lot of attention was paid to the building’s facade. In total, 2.2 km of LEDs were thus installed as dynamic lighting, providing light shows programmed specifically for Crédit Agricole. “The regional head office, which was built in 1972, has been completely revamped and transformed into a smart building that is truly one of a kind throughout the whole of Toulouse,” explains Stéphane Vu. “GA Smart Building placed its trust in our technical expertise and our ability to meet this challenge within the set deadlines.”
