SPIE acquires Paternoster and consolidates its position as leader in Ile-de-France
Paris, 7 January 2008 - SPIE announces the purchase of the electrical installation company Paternoster. Founded in 1981 by Thierry Paternoster, Paternoster which is based in Croissy-sur-Seine (78) provides high- and low-voltage electrical engineering services (specialising in fire and intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance and data networks), undertaking both new work and maintenance. Its principal areas of activity are commercial and residential property management, retail and the health sector. Notable customers of Paternoster include numerous local authorities in the west of Ile-de-France. Paternoster, which has more than 80 employees, recorded sales of EUR 13 million in 2007 and achieved an operating result of 10%. The company has a unique human resources policy, with the majority of its site managers having been trained on apprenticeship schemes. "The employees of SPIE are like us," says Thierry Paternoster. "They know the business and the difficulties posed at the sites. We therefore naturally chose SPIE to ensure the ongoing growth of the company" "The acquisition of Paternoster illustrates our development strategy," adds Philippe Cosson, Managing Director of the SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest subsidiary. "With this purchase, we will be taking a significant market share in the western Paris region, growing our business in the local service industries and acquiring a profitable company with the same values as SPIE."
