SPIE appoints Pierre Savoy CEO of SPIE ICS and entrusts him with operational management of all SPIE subsidiaries in Switzerland

Emmenbrücke December 16, 2015 – As of January 1, 2016, Pierre Savoy will join the SPIE Group and will head up all Swiss subsidiaries of Europe’s leading independent multi-technical services Group in the areas of energy and communications. SPIE will also appoint him CEO of SPIE ICS taking over from Philipp Lücke.

Pierre Savoy, 49, has some 30 years of experience and has held management positions in companies from a variety of industries both nationally and internationally. His career has taken him from ABB, Contraves, Siemens, and ISS to his current management position at Swissgrid. Among his activities, he was responsible for revenues of up to €1 billion and for managing companies with many thousands of employees. This wealth of experience will enable him to further expand the market position of the SPIE Group in Switzerland.

The qualified electrical engineer was born in Geneva and has lived in Zurich for 27 years. He graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Geneva and also holds a number of degrees in business administration for managers, including as an alumnus of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra.

Pierre Savoy will take over as CEO as one of Switzerland’s largest multi-technical services providers, which unites the following competences under one roof: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, air-conditioning technology and full-service ICT. SPIE’s service offering in Switzerland covers areas such as the Smart City, energy services, facility management, energy-efficient buildings, industry services as well as information and communication technology. Pierre Savoy will take over the reins of a corporate network that employs some 700 people and has a presence in all language regions in Switzerland at over 20 locations and which unites the following business units:

  • SPIE Schweiz AG, founded in 2007 and provider of integrated facility-management services with around 40 staff;
  • SPIE Suisse SA, which itself includes three subsidiaries: Hamard SA (infrastructures and FTTH), Fanac & Robas SA (service sector), and Electrotech SA (industry and energy) and employs 225 staff, and the two companies Viscom System SA (70 employees in Montreux) and VISTA Concept SA;
  • SPIE ICS AG, the ICT full service provider focusing on unified communications and collaboration including security and data centers as well as workspace management and consultancy on managed services and cloud solutions with around 350 staff.

Pierre Savoy will also take over from the current head of the subsidiary SPIE ICS, Philip Lücke, who will continue to head up the company until December 31, 2015 to ensure a smooth handover. After 19 years holding a range of functions at the SPIE Group, including CEO of SPIE Deutschland System Integration, and following the successful integration of connectis into the Group after its acquisition by SPIE, Philipp Lücke decided to take on new professional challenges. The operating directors of the other Swiss companies will continue to be responsible for their business units.

“Pierre Savoy will be taking over the management of a corporate network that’s on a solid footing, with a long-standing customer base, and with incredible growth potential in Switzerland”, explains Gilles Brazey, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SPIE ICS. He adds: “His goal will be to continue pursuing the Europe-wide development strategy of SPIE in Switzerland through the comprehensive service offering of the multi-technical group and ensure he delivers this with maximum effect.”
