SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest acquires Upelec and Revolux
The SPIE subsidiary ventures into the Paris collective accommodation market.
SPIE has rounded out its geographical coverage in the Ile-de France region around Paris with two strategic acquisitions in the Val-de-Marne and Hauts-de-Seine departments. The two newly acquired companies mean that SPIE now has installations close to its customers. Upelec, located in Cachan (94), carries out new electrical installation works for standard and luxury apartment blocks (1,000 units a year), as well as residences for the dependent elderly (EHPAD and MAPAD) and child day care centres. The company was set up by Maurice Thomas in 1997. It generated sales of 5 million euros and achieved an operating result of 10% in 2007. Based in Montrouge (92), Revolux provides high- and low-voltage electrical engineering services for hospitals, housing complexes, historical monuments and local authorities. Revolux has a workforce of 40, annual sales of 6 million euros and an operating result of over 5%. The company was taken over by Michel Bauduin in 1975. Philippe Cosson, Managing Director of the SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest subsidiary, explained: "These acquisitions fall within the remit of our proactive development strategy: to venture into the high-potential collective accommodation market undertaking both new work and refurbishment projects and to strengthen our position as leader in the services sector of the Ile-de-France region".
