10 November 2015 - Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie - La Villette
Saint-Denis, 9 November 2015 – SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest has announced it will take part in a forum on environment-related professions and training (Forum des Formations et des Métiers de l’Environnement) to be held at the "Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie" science museum, in La Villette, near Paris. Just a few weeks before the 21st International Conference on Climate Change (COP 21) in Paris, the regional multi-technical services subsidiary of the SPIE Group aims to help young people from Seine-Saint-Denis discover professions fully focused on the green economy.
The one-day event, organised by Seine-Saint-Denis departmental council, will bring together companies, competitiveness clusters, associations training and teaching establishments where ecological transition are a key point of interest. The aim is to help secondary school pupils and job seekers discover a wide range of career opportunities in business fields that are constantly adapting to meet this challenge.
In line with its diversity policy, SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest will give these young people the chance to talk with operational personnel whose work is connected with energy management and efficiency. Contract managers, foremen, and HVAC and maintenance technicians working on the science museum site will be at the forum to share their passion for their professions. They will be backed up by staff from the human resources department who will give advice on training schemes and career paths in these fields.
With 3,600 employees working from from 40 locations in Ile-de-France, Picardie, Haute-Normandie and Nord-Pas-de-Calais, SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest is a major regional player in the fields of energy and communications. This multi-technical services subsidiary implements innovative solutions in four main business fields: « Smart city », « e-fficient buildings », « Energies », « Industry services » with energy efficiency as the keystone of all its offerings.
"It is particularly through our businesses that we act on the environment. Our aim is to arouse young people’s curiosity and interest in technical areas that are of practical benefit for the environment, notably the fields of "Smart city" and "e-fficient buildings" which offer many opportunities for energy savings," says Guillaume Stadler, human resources development manager at SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest.
