SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest has announced the official opening of its new head office at Villeneuve- d’Ascq, in France’s Nord department, on 13 June.
With a total area of 2,850 sq. m. and the possibility of extension in the future, this new establishment is mainly intended to accommodate electrical engineering, HVAC and multitechnical maintenance activities for clients in the commercial sector, industry, local authorities and the energy sector (works and maintenance). The new head office will be bring together personnel previously working from three centres located in Beaurains and Templemars. About 300 employees will be based there, including a permanent staff of 150.
The main objective for SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest is to strengthen its presence in the whole Lille urban area, the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region and throughout SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest’s territory for energy–related expertise (in Ile-de-France, Picardie and Haute-Normandie).
An eco-friendly building for a better working environment
“Our old premises were no longer suitable for our future development,” explains Philippe Girault, CEO of SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest. “Our staff now have a completely new wood-structure building with a low energy consumption and providing an optimised environment.” The building’s architecture is designed to maximise energy recycling and savings, with natural, environmentally-friendly construction materials providing a high level of thermal inertia, window bays oriented to optimise heat recovery and a rainwater collection system supplying tanks. All these design choices along with the building’s successful integration into its surroundings will enhance the working environment.
Haute Borne science park, an ideal site
Located in the Haute Borne science park, the new SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest building benefits from the park’s high-tech setting, protected natural surroundings, an ideal geographic location near major clients and excellent accessibility. Within a few months, it will also be coupled with a 2,200 sq. m. business district featuring workshops and warehouses at Lesquin.
“What this new location offers is greater visibility and a modern working environment,” says Philippe Girault. “This exemplary new site reflecting our commitment to sustainable development will help promote our growth in the region, especially with regard to the energy-efficient building, Industry services, smart city and energy markets.”
