SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest provides HVAC for the pharmaceutical industry
Oril Industrie*, a subsidiary of the Servier pharmaceuticals group, has chosen SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest's HVAC department to upgrade the ventilation systems of the research laboratories in the organic synthesis laboratory facility at its Bolbec plant in the Seine Maritime region of France. This contract covers:
  • the replacement of ventilation systems in technical rooms and laboratory areas (specific fume hood extraction and air compensation systems),
  • the installation of two 18,000 m3/hour air treatment units and a number of fabric duct systems,
  • the installation of an automatic air flow control system.

The contract is subject to extremely strict safety requirements as the plant is a SEVESO classified** installation and the work is to be carried out while the premises are occupied. This 11-month contract is worth €606,000. * Oril Industrie: This subsidiary of the Servier pharmaceuticals group specialises in research, development and industrialisation and also in the manufacture of active chemical ingredients developed by the parent company. ** SEVESO: European directive regarding the prevention of serious accidents involving hazardous substances or preparations used in certain categories of classified facilities requiring special authorisation for environment protection purposes.
