SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest strengthens its multi-technical offering to meet energy-efficiency challenges for Grand Paris housing projects

Saint-Denis, 26 November 2015 –Having set up a specialised plumbing, heating and mechanical ventilation business line in its housing division, SPIE Ile-de-France is broadening its range of skills. The aim of this regional multi-technical subsidiary of the SPIE group is to be ready to take up one of the biggest challenges posed by the Grand Paris development project: providing 70,000 energy-efficient homes a year.
This approach has already helped win seven contracts for comprehensive work packages, the latest being for electrical, heating and plumbing installations at a 183 housing residence  in Bures-sur-Yvette (Essonne).

This contract, signed in October 2015, is a logical follow-on from the creation of the plumbing, heating and mechanical ventilation business line in the Ile-de-France housing division of this regional multi-technical subsidiary of the SPIE group.

With its takeover of two firms specialising in electrical installation work – Upelec in 2008 and Plus Elec in 2010 – SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest had already boosted its skills range, enabling it to carry out high and low-voltage and home automation installation work for more than 5,000 new apartments a year in the Ile-de-France region. Then, with the creation of its plumbing, heating and mechanical ventilation business line in the Ile-de-France housing division in 2014, this SPIE regional subsidiary confirmed its determination to construct a comprehensive offering to optimise the energy efficiency of buildings while also cutting costs. This is an important step forward in view of the major prospects of the Grand Paris project and the fitting out of 70,000 dwellings which are to be built every year.

"This new offering including electricity, plumbing, heating and mechanical ventilation strengthens our position as a top player at the service of the property development sector," says Julien Mahot, director of the SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest housing division. "With the increasing demand in this sector, creating this new business line has enabled us to win seven comprehensive work contracts worth about €8 million. We already have 12 people doing plumbing, heating and mechanical ventilation work alongside the teams doing electrical installation work, and the prospects for this new offering are particularly good."
