SPIE regroups all its Swiss subsidiaries under the name of SPIE Switzerland Ltd

Zurich, March 21st, 2017 – SPIE regroups all its Swiss subsidiaries under the name of SPIE Switzerland Ltd(1). This has enabled the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications to position itself in Switzerland as a global partner for Smart cities, Smart buildings, energy, infrastructures and ICT(2).

Thanks to the synergies that will be created in this shared structure, SPIE Switzerland Ltd will, through its subsidiaries, provide a comprehensive offer in the fields of multi-technical services and ICT.

With a staff of over 600 employees spread across 13 sites in Switzerland, SPIE provides services in the following areas: information and communication infrastructures, electronic engineering and technology for buildings, facility management and energy efficient solutions. This will also include innovative solutions and services such as Cloud, IoT (Internet of Things) and SDN (Software Defined Networking) for the transformation of the digital company and Smart X (combined services covering Smart cities, Smart buildings, Smart energy, etc.).

“Our strength lies in our extensive expertise and our ability to work in many different technical areas. We are positioning ourselves as a global provider on the market,” explains Pierre Savoy, Chief Executive Officer of SPIE Switzerland Ltd. “Our goal is to achieve long term solid growth in Switzerland. With digital technology taking off, the areas of ICT, multi-technical services and Facility Services are becoming increasingly amalgamated. Our specific expertise, our experience and our highly flexible approach place us in an ideal position to offer our clients the best possible service with added value”, Pierre Savoy continues.

Gilles Brazey, a member of the Board of Directors of SPIE Switzerland Ltd, explains: “By combining its operational units, SPIE is able to align the organisational structure in Switzerland with those in other countries. The fact that we are taking this step and can offer a full range of services enables us to pursue our European development strategy effectively.”

As a member of the organisation ‘CityZen’ in Switzerland, SPIE is committed to the Smart city concept and is making use of certain technologies to work towards the ‘city of the future’. It is also supporting the first ‘Smart Suisse’ conference, which will take place in spring 2017 in the city of Basle.
