Paris, 19 November 2020 – The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, a French subsidiary of the SPIE group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, is renewing a maintenance contract with the aircraft and parts manufacturer Daher for a period of five years. This contract, held by the Industrie Sud business division, further strengthens a partnership first entered into in 2005 and aims to optimise production resources at the Tarbes site in Hautes-Pyrénées.
The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire was chosen by Daher thanks to its expertise in all the means of production needed to implement customised and innovative technical solutions and meet optimisation objectives. “Daher needed a specialised services integrator to assist it in the smart control of machines. The challenge was to improve the availability of the latter in order to reduce technicians’ response time and optimise service costs, thereby increasing productivity,” explained Jean-Luc Le Delliou, Director of the Sud Division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire – Industrie division.
The Industrie division developed a Smart Industry offer, built on the experience gained from numerous collaborations with its customers in this area. With a view to optimising the production resources at Daher’s site in Tarbes, Hautes-Pyrénées, it has capitalised on the feedback received from a PoC (Proof of Concept) in predictive maintenance, previously established with a European aircraft manufacturer.
Thanks to its experience and its ability to offer bespoke solutions, the division has established itself as the most viable partner for Daher’s Smart Maintenance project. Its solution has therefore been selected for the maintenance of four machines at the Tarbes site, which will be subject to a PoV (Proof of Value). “Using data from existing automation systems on machines with connected sensors and artificial intelligence, we will link these to a centralised platform to better detect faults within the system and therefore to predict potential breakdowns”, explained Vivien Poren, Business Manager within SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire - Industrie division.
The teams, made up of around fifteen employees and known for their electronic engineering expertise, are responsible for the maintenance of more than 1,500 machines and items of equipment. Their remit includes methods, preventive and corrective maintenance, on-call duties, stock management and optimisation and the proposal of suppliers’ progress plans.
The Industry Sud business division and the Solutions & Expertises division will design and implement the PoV, with support from SPIE ICS, the digital services subsidiary of SPIE France. This initiative is an illustration of the ONE SPIE approach, which combines the expertise of SPIE France’s various subsidiaries. It promotes synergies and the development of collective solutions that create value. The solution conceived for Daher was developed on the basis of best practices identified within the various subsidiaries with a view to improving collective performance, simplifying the passing on of expertise and improving the quality of goods and services delivered to customers.
“The Industrie division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire has been working with us since 2005; it was only natural that we should reaffirm our confidence in the division in 2020 with the signing of a new maintenance contract. Our contacts are attentive to our needs and to the developments on the market. We have grown together and learned from each other’s practices. We are particularly appreciative of their ability to offer bespoke solutions that are tailored to our needs,” concluded Alexandre Bel, General Resources Manager at Daher.
