SPIE takes over PIER S.A.
Through its subsidiary SPIE Sud-Est, SPIE has just acquired PIER S.A., a telecoms infrastructure specialist founded in 1989 and located near Annecy. With a staff of 40, PIER posts average annual sales of EUR 4 million to telecoms operators, particularly in mountain equipment. Recognised for its expertise in structural dimensioning and integration of turnkey assemblies, the company is praised by telecommunications operators as a quality partner for the wide range of services it offers. These include site research, negotiation, studies and advice, design, assembly and commissioning of complex infrastructures. Its integration of PIER will raise SPIE Sud-Est's profile with all its telecommunications operator customers, increasing the added value of its services and expanding its telecoms infrastructure capabilities. Today, backed by a full range of project management, engineering and associated works and maintenance services, SPIE Sud-Est is reaffirming its commitment to the development of a strong telecoms hub for all its customers in this sector, in terms of both site deployment and "network life". In synergy with the other technical business divisions of SPIE Sud-Est (energy networks, mechanical and electromechanical maintenance), PIER will help SPIE strengthen its activities in alpine mountain stations.
