SPIE unveils the names of the winners of the "Suppliers Innovation Challenge 2016" in Belgium

Brussels, December 14th, 2016 – On 8 December 2016, SPIE Belgium awarded the prizes for its first "Innovation Challenge" at the Diamant Centre in Brussels. Ten suppliers were honoured for their innovations in terms of product, service and organisation.

In April 2016, the SPIE Belgium Purchasing Department launched the "Suppliers Innovation Challenge" in order to award its most innovative partners. Nearly forty suppliers registered for the Suppliers Innovation Challenge 2016 with no less than 159 different projects. The panel of judges, made up of the staff of SPIE Belgium, organised the projects into five categories: breakthrough innovation, environmental and CSR impact, economic impact, safety and supply chain. Ten projects – two per category – were selected to receive an innovation trophy last Thursday.

The winning companies in each category are:

  • Breakthrough innovation
    • First Prize: Niko, for "Ook"
    • Second Prize: Phoenix Contact, for "QPD"
  • Environmental and CSR impact
    • First Prize: Suez, for "Solido"
    • Second Prize: Paperwise, for “Paper and cardboard from organic materials"
  • Economic impact
    • First Prize: Wurth, for "OrsyOneSite"
    • Second Prize: Phoenix Contact, for "QPD"
  • Safety
  • First Prize: Clic-it, for "PRO60"
  • Second Prize: Sanutal, for "Hydra GS"
  • Supply chain
    • First Prize: Hilti, for "ON!Track + Fleet Management"
    • Second Prize: Wurth, for "OrsyOneSite"

At the ceremony on 8 December, Paperwise won the audience prize for its innovation "Paper and cardboard from organic materials".

Manu De Keuster, Purchasing Director at SPIE Belgium, was delighted to be able to award the prizes and reward SPIE Belgium's suppliers for the great efforts they have made in terms of innovation.
