Viparis, which manages the 10 leading conference centres and venues for exhibitions, events and shows in the Paris and Ile-de-France region has awarded SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest a contract in connection with its infrastructure modernisation programme.
The work to be performed entails installing a remote reading system for electricity, water and gas meters on the Paris Nord Villepinte site.
This solution will enable data recorded on meters throughout the 240,000 sq. m exhibition area to be collected in remote mode for invoicing purposes and also to optimise energy consumption in the nine exhibition halls. Radio technology will be used for the remote reading of water and gas meters. The services to be provided also include part of the fibre-optic network between the halls.
This contract was secured by the local general electrical installations (IGE) department, backed by the expertise of the services division for water and gas installation work and the energy efficiency technical department of SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest.
The work is due for completion in the first half of this year.
In parallel, SPIE Ile-de-France Nord-Ouest is also helping to upgrade the video-surveillance system at Le Bourget exhibition park. This work is to be completed by the end of February this year by teams from the major project department.
